Hey There!
I’ve been quiet for a bit, but I haven’t stopped making stuff. I’ve been working on my self-chosen and directed artist residency and that’s given me a lot of time and ideas about my art and how I want to share it. Read an in-depth post with images and next steps on that here on my website.
It’s leading me to something simpler, more personal, and more aligned with what I’ve always believed and how I’ve created and shared:
You don’t need permission to create. You just need a spark.
So, I’m starting (yet!) again—but this time with a clearer thread to follow.
Here’s what that looks like to me:
More handmade work, of all kinds, shared directly from my studio
Occasional art drops: originals, prints, folios, stickers, gifts and what other things catch my fancy
Fewer platforms, more real connections, doubling down on my retreat from the worst of the digital world, (just my website, Ko-Fi, Pinterest, and this newsletter)
A focus on stepping outside the velvet rope and encouraging our shared mark making
To mark this moment, I made a one-page printable collage sheet. It’s free, and it’s for you as a current subscriber.
Use it however you like: pin it up, cut it apart, glue it into your journal, or just keep it nearby as a reminder that your mark matters.
Thanks for being here, seriously, This new direction isn’t a big rebrand or campaign, it’s just a return to what’s always been true for me.
Come with me and let’s keep making!
Monette
Wow what a gift! a wonderful spark! Just the encouragement I needed right now. Thank you.
