How are you - I hope your creative life is thriving! I’ve been working in the studio lately and getting outside more. The weather here is really beautiful and the trails are calling!
To The Videos!
I'll admit to not really liking to watch videos (too long and and windy) but I do like making them and now we have the best kind: short videos! I’ve made a few in the last couple days and it’s going well, so far…
These 2 are one minute or less and show me applying paint and collage tissue paper:
Adding another layer to a mixed media work in progress
Collaging down printed tissue paper
And that studio tour I promised - a 360 degree tour of my small, but busy, workspace.
Work in Progress
Remember that preview of a Skellie with a striped ball I shared last time? It’s gone, no more, scrubbed off and painted over! Instead of a sketchbook, I tend to work out ideas on the actual pieces. It’s more interesting for me and gives them a history and layers that I think make the work more engaging. (If you want to see the interim steps, there’s a short video for that here.)
There are more things in progress - you can see them all sitting around in the tour - and I’m moving them forward as I can work out the ideas.
